Here is a list of current achievements and their requirements. Remember, each star gives you one “note” that can be used in the Music Madness Store!

To earn an achievement, you must be able to either complete the requirement in class, and/or pass the quiz or assignment here on MusicMadness247.

Look for your name on the Leaderboard page when you have earned an achievement!

This achievement can earn an unlimited amount of stars. Here’s how to earn one:

      1. Pick a song out of your method book (Alfred Book, All for Strings, or Classical Guitar Method) that we have NEVER played in class.

      2. Teach yourself to play the song, making sure you’re playing the correct notes and rhythms!

      3. Play the song for your teacher in class. To earn a star, you must be playing with correct notes, rhythms,   and dynamics.

5-note Major Scales Online Badge

First Star – Be able to play the five note scales in C, G,    D, A

Second Star – Be able to play the five note scales in C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#

Third Star – Be able to play the five note scales in C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#, Ab, Eb, Bb, F

 

Here are all 12 Five Note Scales. Unless your teacher tells you differently, you must be able to play each scale with both hands simultaneously, and you must be able to play all the correct notes in the scale without any help from your teacher and without looking at any written notes.

First Star – Be able to play the Cadence Exercises in the keys of C, G, D, and A from memory and with fluidity.

Second Star – Be able to play the Cadence Exercises in the keys of C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, and C# from memory and with fluidity.

Third Star – Be able to play the Cadence Exercises in the keys of C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#, Ab, Eb, Bb, and F from memory and with fluidity.

Following Assignment Directions Online Badge

First Star – Follow the directions for five assignments in your notebook every time you practice for one week and fill in the assignment rubric each time.

Second Star – Follow the directions for five assignments in your notebook every time you practice for two weeks in a row and fill in the assignment rubric each time.

Third Star – Follow the directions for five assignments in your notebook every time you practice for three weeks in a row and fill in the assignment rubric each time.

**The assignment rubric (coming soon) must be signed by a parent, and practicing must occur at least four days out of each week**

First Star – Be able to play the Fret Exercise on the E and B strings while saying the names of the notes.

Second Star – Be able to play the Fret Exercise on the E, B, G, and D strings while saying the names of the notes.

Third Star – Be able to play the Fret Exercise on all strings and say the names of the notes from memory while playing.

Identifying Intervals Online Badge

 

 

First Star – Be able to play any major or perfect interval.

Second Star – Be able to play any minor or augmented/diminished interval.

Third Star – Be able to aurally identify any interval.

Lines and Spaces Online Badge

 

First Star – Memorize the lines and spaces for the Treble Clef.

Second Star – Memorize the lines and spaces for the Bass Clef.

Third Star – Be able to identify any line or space on either clef easily.

Listening Online Badge

 

First Star – Listen to a song chosen by your teacher, and fill in the Listening for One Star form.

Second Star – Listen to two more songs chosen by your teacher, and fill in the Listening for Two Stars form

Third Star – Listen to three different versions of a song you are playing (chosen by your teacher) and fill in the Listening for Three Stars form.

 


 

 

Major Chord Inversions Online Badge

 

First Star – Be able to play the root, first inversion, and second inversion of C, G, D, and A chords with both hands simultaneously.

Second Star – Be able to play the root, first inversion, and second inversion of C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, and C# with both hands simultaneously.

Third Star – Be able to play the root, first inversion, and second inversion of C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#, Ab, Eb, Bb, and F with both hands simultaneously.

 

 


Major Chord Memorization Online Badge

First Star – memorize the notes that make up C, G, D, and A major chords and be able to say them without looking at a piece of paper or your instrument.

Second Star – memorize the notes that make up C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, and C# major chords and be able to say them without looking at a piece of paper or your instrument.

Third Star – memorize the notes that make up C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#, Ab, Eb, Bb, and F major chords and be able to say them without looking at a piece of paper or your instrument.

Marathon Online Badge

First Star – Play a song or piece that you are working on 40 times in one week.

Second Star – Play a song or piece that you are working on 60 times in one week (that’s 60 more times).

Third Star – Play a song or piece that you are working on 80 times in one week.

 


 

 

 

Names of the Notes Online Badge

 

First Star – Be able to find A, B, C, D, E, F, and G anywhere on your instrument.

Second Star – Be able to find all the sharps and flats anywhere on your instrument.

Third Star – Be able to say all of the notes in chromatic scale order without looking at your instrument or a piece of paper.

Performance Experience Online badge

 

First Star – Perform either in a recital or through making a recording that is shared with others.

Second Star – Performing either in a recital or through making a recording that is shared with others for a second time.

Third Star – Performing either in a recital or through making a recording that is shared with others for a third time.

* The piece being performed must be approved for performance and must be ready to perform (correct notes, rhythm, tempo, etc.)

 


Proper Posture Online Badge

 

First Star – Sit up straight at or with your instrument throughout an entire lesson without having to be told.

Second Star – Sit up straight at or with your instrument for two entire lessons in a row without having to be told.

Third Star – Sit up straight at or with your instrument for three entire lessons in a row without having to be told.

 

 


 

Sequence of Thirds Online Badge

First Star – be able to play all four sequences while saying the names of the notes in 45 seconds or less.

Second Star – be able to play all four sequences while saying the names of the notes in 2o seconds or less.

Third Star – be able to SAY (NOT PLAY) all four sequences in 10 seconds or less.

Treble Cat Online Badge

First Star – Complete Stage 1 of Treble Cat, the app found at MelodyCats.com, with 3 stars on every level.

Second Star – Complete Stage 2 of Treble Cat with 3 stars on every level.

Third Star – Complete Stage 3 of Treble Cate with 3 stars on every level.

*If you are using the same device to play the game with someone else, the number of stars won’t necessarily stay correct for one of you, so your total star count will need to be verified by a parent in order to earn the achievement.
